The 30 month programme comprises:
Based on a belief that you learn by "doing" and that learning can be fun, we use accelerated learning techniques to ensure that we not only teach you the material, but that you and your team learn what's being taught. In the team workshops, your staff members interact and network with their peers from the other teams. This is particularly valuable when they sit with staff from other practices, who share the same job descriptions, and compare their experiences and create new ones.

The first four (4) workshops focus on systems and tools. We are "task" oriented, focussing on detail and problem solving and moving the dentist to a mindset of "manager". In short, the first year is all about introducing systems.
The pace changes as you move into the second year of the Progamme (Workshop 5) and there is a Perspective Shift.
Whereas the first four (4) workshops focus on systems and tools, Workshops 5-9 focus on processes. We move from "task" to "goal" orientation, from a perspective of "detail" to one of "overview", from "problem" to "solution", from "dentist as manager" to "staff as a self directed work team".
In short, after the systems are introduced in Workshops 1-4, the focus of the curriculum for Workshops 5-9 is about total quality management and creating excellence as a habit. We have recently introduced a 10th workshop to our Management Programme “Secrets to rich and meaningful life”. This was successfully run in 2008 in recognition that many of our clients wanted to take control of their life and the impact they had on it. This is above and beyond running a successful dental practice and provides individuals with life skills.
You will be assigned either a coach or mentor (a dentist who's successfully completed the programme) for brainstorming, problem solving, accountability, coaching and support.
During the 1st year of the programme you will be given a handbook complete with Verbal Skills and scripts for handling every situation imaginable! You will receive forms for everything: you name it, we have a form or a script for it! You willl receive your own username and password to the Clients Only section of our website, you will have access to all sorts of forms, guides and verbal skills scripts. You will be given electronic spreadsheets to create your annual plans and to track your monthly Key Performance Indicators and your monthly expenses and you will receive your quarterly newsletters.
Membership to a Group of Dentists of Distinction One of the by-products of the Management Programme is that you become part of an elite group of dentists in your area. Our clients demonstrate a strong commitment to growth, quality and excellence. You and your team will remain with the same group of dentists for the entire two and half (2 1/2) years of the course and create a Board of Directors.
This community, where excellence, honesty and quality thrive, is available in a different format once the programme reaches completion. For those dentists who are interested in maintaining the momentum in their practices and in their lives can join our graduate programme; the Alumni programme. The curriculum changes every year and has involved team workshps on personal growth, outdoor adventure programmes, financial workshops, advanced case presentation techniques seminars, Board and mentorship opportunities. |
